ABOUT THE HOTEL
Mara West Camp has eight secluded chalets, perched on the edge of the Oloololo Escarpment, overlooking the vast plains of the Transmara Triangle below, and six traditional safari tents overlooking the escarpments bordering valley. It also has a one-honeymoon suite and 20 bandas.
The bathroom is made of brick while the bedroom area consists of canvas panels with zippered windows and roll up panels. The floors are solid hardwood and the tent is entered through a pair of French doors, with glass window panes. Each of these secluded chalets is fully furnished with handcrafted cedar furniture, including two queen beds per tent. Cushioned sofa sets and personal writing desks offer relaxing clients the comforts of home. Luxury bathrobes are provided, and all towels, linens, pillows, and duvets in the tented chalets are specially selected for their comfort and quality. A lock cedar chest is provided in each room, where all valuables can be stored for safe keeping.
In both the secluded chalets and the safari tents, full bathroom facilities are en-suite with flush toilets and large spacious showers, complete with good water pressure and plenty of hot water twice a day, mornings and evenings. Mara West Camps electricity is a combination of solar, generator and battery packs, so that power is always available for lights, and during generator times power is available in the tents for charging equipment and other electrical appliances.
